Christmas Facial at Home

On the eve of the holidays, we are all busy shopping for gifts for our loved ones and decorating our homes. But let’s not neglect our precious face, as dry and cold temperatures make our skin even more vulnerable. Let’s do a Christmas facial at home, using homemade ingredients to surprise our loved ones with a glowing and toned face.

  • Step 1 – Pull back your hair and put on a headband

First of all, you should take your hair away from your face and make sure it won’t get in the way during the facial. It can be very annoying if you have to interrupt your procedure and try to fix it when your hands are sticky. Even better, you can also add a headband.

  • Step 2 – Wash your face

As everything starts with a clean canvas, you should first wash your face. In order to avoid over drying your skin, use a gentle facial cleanser CeraVe Hydrating Face Wash and splash your face with cool water. When you’re done, tap your skin with a clean towel. Never wipe it because it can irritate your skin. So think of your skin like delicate silk.

  • Step 3 – Exfoliate your skin

In all facial procedures, exfoliation is a key step. This helps remove dead skin cells from your skin and boosts cell turnover, making your skin radiant and ready to quickly absorb the ingredients you are about to apply.

For this, we will use a homemade scrub with Christmas flavors:

  •  ⅓  teaspoon of grounded coffee
  •  ⅓  teaspoon of grounded cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Mix all of these ingredients and apply the scrub on your damp face. Gently massage your face in a circular motion for two minutes, and then rinse it with cool water.

  • Step 4 – Massage your face

If you’ve ever got a facial treatment in a spa or beauty salon, you already know that massage, performed manually or using tools is a necessary step in your procedure. This improves blood circulation, enhances lymphatic drainage, and gives good non-surgical lifting to your face.

Although 10 minutes are enough for the daily practice of Face Shaping Massage, since you are getting ready for the event and want to immediately see the “before and after” result, I advise you to keep  massaging your face for 20 minutes.

So apply a facial oil on your skin, take your rollers and begin massaging your face. Jojoba oil is ideal for this purpose, but if you don’t have it, you can replace it with another one that you are using. Once you’re done, your face will be toned and radiant, with sculpted cheeks and chiseled jawline.

  • Step 5 – Apply the facial mask #1

Now that you have taken good care of your facial muscles, and the massage has boosted blood circulation, it’s time to perfect your skin. For this facial treatment, we will use two different masks. The first one will tighten your pores, clean the impurities, and brighten your skin tone.

For this easy-to-prepare Christmas mask, you will need two ingredients that are most likely already in your kitchen:

  • ½  egg white
  • 10 drops of lemon juice

Combine these ingredients and apply the mask to dry skin previously washed with tap water after the massage step. Let it dry for 10 minutes and rinse your face again.

  • Step 6 – Apply the facial mask #2

The second mask you are about to apply is to nourish and moisturize your skin. This effective mask, rich in vitamins and amino acids, will make your skin smooth and silky.

The ingredients needed for this mask are:

  • ⅓ or ½ mashed banana
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Mix these ingredients well and apply the mask on your dry face. After 15 minutes, wash your face with tap water.

  • Step 7 – Apply your moisturizer and the eye cream

Although you will be tempted to skip this step when you feel your skin has become smooth after doing the previous steps, it is still important to moisturize it. Your moisturizer and eye cream locks in hydration for longer lasting results.

Now that you have finished your Christmas facial, you are fully prepared for the upcoming parties. You can do this facial treatment the night before, and although it is called the “Christmas facial at home,” you can do it whenever you want to give your face a good boost.
